Rest in Comfort: Bedding for Families in Need

For families devastated by floods and poverty, even the basic comfort of a bed is often missing. Many are forced to sleep on cold, hard floors, which impacts their health, rest, and overall well-being. This project provides essential bedding facilities—including quilts, bed sheets, and traditional bed frames (Charpai)—to deserving and flood-affected households. By offering a safe and comfortable place to sleep, we help restore dignity, improve health, and bring relief to families struggling to rebuild their lives.

Why Bedding Matters

1 billion

live in inadequate housing without basic necessities such as proper flooring, bedding, or protection from cold and damp conditions.

117 million

people are forcibly displaced due to conflict, disasters, and climate events — many sleeping on bare floors or makeshift bedding after losing their homes.

60 %

of rural households lack basic household assets (including beds or mattresses), based on World Bank poverty and living-standards surveys.

A bed is more than furniture—it is a place of rest, healing, and security. For families who have lost everything to floods or who live in poverty, the absence of bedding means sleepless nights, vulnerability to illness, and added hardship. Providing quilts, sheets, and Charpai frames ensures warmth in winter, comfort year-round, and a sense of stability for families in crisis. Supporting this project means giving families the gift of rest and the strength to face tomorrow with hope.
