Gift a Flock, Gift a Future

This project equips deserving families with 25 vaccinated poultry birds—both chickens and roosters—along with one month of feed and essential pots. Chickens provide a steady supply of eggs, with each hen laying over 200 eggs per year, ensuring families have vital protein in their diet. Roosters play a key role in flock sustainability, enabling breeding and long-term growth. Surplus eggs and chicks can be sold, generating income to cover schooling, clothing, and medicine. By gifting poultry, you’re giving families food security today and a sustainable livelihood for tomorrow.

Why Poultry Birds Matter

1.3 billion

people depend on livestock — including poultry — for food, income, or livelihoods.

70 %

of rural households in developing countries keep poultry, making chickens the most widely owned livestock species worldwide

40 %

of household income for smallholder families, with poultry being one of the most common entry points (FAO).

Chickens are a reliable source of nutrition, while roosters ensure the flock can grow and sustain itself. Together, they create a cycle of food and income that transforms lives. Families benefit from daily eggs, healthier diets, and the ability to sell surplus produce. Over time, breeding expands the flock, multiplying opportunities for income and resilience. Supporting this project means empowering families with a renewable source of nourishment and financial stability.
